Effect of Upright Position on Pain and Duration of the Active Phase of the First Stage of Labor among Women in Labor in the Work Area of Tasikmalaya TPMB

Prolonged labor is one of causes maternal and infant death. Several prolonged are inefficient uterine contractions, presentation or position the fetus, inadequate pelvic bones abnormalities soft tissues, which result in failure to progress an increase incidence Caesarean section delivery. The upright will encourage stronger more efficient wherein gravity occur keep baby's head pressed towards lower segment so as help cervical dilation shorten duration labor. Upright positions first stage include walking, standing, sitting, half-sitting, kneeling, crawling positions. This study aims determine effect compared supine on level pain active phase among primigravida women was a quasi-experimental with post-test only design. There were 100 samples who assigned control group intervention group, consisting 50 respondents, respectively. conducted at Tasikmalaya TPMB. Data collection carried out for approximately 6 months March-August 2022. results showed that had shorter those position. Independent t test obtained p value equals 0.000 (p less than 0.05).
